Smart Farms, Happy Cows: Balancing Productivity and Planet
‘Smart Farms, Happy Cows’ explores how artificial intelligence (AI) is shaping the future of livestock farming. We will investigate different applications of AI among livestock, including monitoring animal health to improve welfare; using predictive models and feeding systems to reduce harmful emissions; and collecting data-driven insights which allow for careful resource management to optimise production. The presentation will demonstrate that through balancing sustainability with efficiency, this technology could make farming better for animals, farmers, and the planet.

The Dog Ate My Data: Emerging Technologies in Pet Health, Behaviour and Welfare
“The Dog Ate My Data” examines the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence in the care, understanding and wellbeing of companion animals. This presentation discusses key AI technologies such as smart collars, and their role in areas including veterinary health, behaviour, welfare and breeding. It highlights the benefits, considers ethical challenges and looks ahead to the future of AI; emphasising that AI can deepen, rather than replace, the bond between humans and their pets.
